Charlotte Bollinger from Lockport

She was born and raised in Lockport, Louisiana and earned a B.A. in Education from  the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She is Executive Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors of Bollinger Shipyards, Inc.

Charlotte is active in a number of professional organizations.  She has served as President of the Lafourche Republican’s Women’s Club, the Lafourche Chamber of Commerce, the Lafourche Education Foundation and Restore or Retreat, a coastal advocacy group.  She is a member of the board and President-elect of the New Orleans Ballet Association.

She has served on several Governor-appointed task forces such as School-to-Work, Work Force Development and the Highway One Coalition.  She was inducted into the Center for Women and Government Hall of Fame and is a recipient of the Harvey Peltier Award for service from Nicholls State University.  She was recently awarded the first Bayou Industrial Association “Big Achiever” Award and presented the Community Hero Award by the Lafourche Chamber of Commerce.

Charlotte has three children – Renee, Ben and Robin – and five grandchildren.





Through the development and promotion of the Louisiana Transfer degree, a robust articulation and transfer system is now in place.

Graduation Rates are increasing overall.

Louisiana higher education fall enrollment has increased by 16,167 students since 2008.

Working with BESE, the Board of Regents has helped to ensure that more students are graduating from high school ready for college or career. ACT scores are on the rise.
