Regents Robert Bruno, is a prominent lawyer and real-estate developer who was appointed by Governor Kathleen Blanco to represent District One on the Louisiana Board of Regents. Governor Blanco turned to Bruno following hurricane Katrina to help rebuild the regions sports economy by becoming a member of the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District (LSED). Mr. Bruno along with fellow commissioners and the SMG group accomplished one of the most remarkable success stories of the Blanco administration by refurbishing the Superdome, the Arena, Zephyr Stadium, keeping the Saints in New Orleans and more. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University (LSU) and his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude from Tulane University School of Law. Bruno practices law in New Orleans and is an active member of the New Orleans Bar Association, the Louisiana Chapter of the Italian American Bar Association and the Louisiana Association for Justice. He also serves as Chairman of the Louisiana Italian American Sports Hall of Fame and on the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition (Superdome) Board of Commissioners and the Tobacco Settlement Financing Corporation Board. ** |
