Richard E. D'Aquin, Vice Chairman

Richard D'Aquin is a Lafayette businessman and long-time newspaper publisher and owner. In addition to membership on numerous commissions, governing boards and civic organizations, Mr. D'Aquin has served on the state Judiciary Commission, the Public Affairs Research Council's Board of Trustees, the Louisiana Education TV Authority, the Governor's Military Advisory Commission, Louisiana Board of Education and long-time member of the First National Bank of Lafayette's board of directors. He is currently president of Louisiana Suburban Press and was former chairman of the Acadiana Strategic Marketing Group. In 1969 he was awarded the Lafayette Civic Cup.

D'Aquin has been a member of the Board of Regents since 1975 where he has served as secretary and a member of the board's executive committee most of those years. He also was elected to two terms as president of the Louisiana Daily Newspapers Association and two terms on the board of directors of the Louisiana Press Association. He is a retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, a LSU graduate and a member of LSU's L Club.
